DISCRIMINATORY NEWS POLICY
I perused Today’s Darbhanga edition of total eight News Papers namely Dainik Jagran,Hindustan, Prabhat Khabar,Dainik Bhaskar, Rashtriya Sahara,Sanmarg,Sunday Times and The Telegraph with an expectation to see two students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya,Birauli,Samastipur in the Intermediate Result’s topper list of CBSE Patna Region or Bihar.CBSE Patna Region First Topper or Bihar First Topper scored 97.2 % marks. Two students of JNV Samastipur scored 97% (Humanities) and 96.8 % (Science) respectively.
The student who scored 97% is the second topper of Bihar State and the first topper of the State from Arts Faculty and the student who scored 96.8 % is the third topper of Bihar State and the second topper from Science Faculty with other students.
Not a single News Paper of Darbhanga edition has published the name of the student who scored 96.8%,but other students who scored 96.8% and less have got place in the topper list of Science Faculty.Except Dainik Jagran, other News Paper have not published the name of the student who scored 97 %,but other students who scored less than 97% have got place in the topper list of Arts Faculty. In the front page of Dainik Jagran,an image of this student with a remarks of 97 % is published, but news contents of Dainik Jagran make three other students who scored less than 97% first, second and third topper.
Similarly,a student of Commerce Faculty who scored 97.2 % and secured first position from Bihar along with a student of Science Faculty has not been given place in many News Paper and students who scored less than him have been made Commerce toppers.
Reasons are best known to editors and correspondents of these news papers, but practices on part of news papers are unfair and inequitable.Unfair and inequitable practices may be termed as Discriminatory News Policy.

Anant Chaudhary There may be unawareness from student and school administration side. They may have failed in providing information regarding toppers to the concerned newspaper.
