Shahrukh Khan is inarguably the biggest star of Asia, with a fan following stretching from the Middle-East to South East Asia. People gather outside his residence just to have a glimpse of him and they mob him whenever he ventures out. SRK has gotten so used to all this adulation that he can’t think of a life without it.
“I don’t want to be anonymous… I’m very honest about that. I love being recognised, I love people liking me, I love the fact that people scream when I go out, I think I’ll miss all that when it’s taken away, and I don’t even think about it,” Shahrukh said in a television interview recently.
The superstar, presently on a high after the success of his last release My Name Is Khan, said the love of his fans inspire him to work harder.
“I think that’s why I work harder every year, every day, every month and every moment. I’m not standing and counting the people outside my house, but I don’t want them to lessen,” he added.
Strangely, despite all the desire for the adulation of his fans, SRK admits he’s a shy person. And he’s not comfortable doing certain things on the big screen.
“I find it extremely odd to laugh on screen. I find it extremely odd to use bad language so I don’t do a film like that… kissing and love making (in films) is the other thing, because I just find it odd,” he said.
Shahrukh is presently working on his home production Ra.One, a sci-fi thriller starring him as a superhero opposite Kareena Kapoor.
