Save the Tigers .. conserve water .. save the trees  .. and recycle your phones.   Aircel,  Dainik Bhaskar, IDEA  and ofcourse NOKIA.   Going green and having a message is the new trend in advertising.   The  thought is good and it is commendable that brands are taking a lead in making the consumer aware of the issues facing us .. for example that we only have 1400 or so tigers left in India.  And as Aircel – says – what can we do about?   We can talk about – or blog about it… so I have decided that I will also join the race and follow their advice and BLOG about it.

My advertising agency K-Factors also sent me a calendar this year .. Tiger Tiger – Please Burn Bright.     The goal was nice – to spread awareness and garner support for the project – “Save the Tiger.  Save the Planet.”   There is a site from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation – savethetigerfund.org.  This is also a green endeavor from Exxon Mobile.  They claim to have funded one quarter of all the funds for Tiger Conservation Globally.   But of well, the site is good that it provides good information on tigers around the world.

But all these ads have got me thinking .. that I too should do something other than just writing a blog ..

  • Recycle, recycle. Recycle.  Thank god for the Radhi (Spelling ?)  Collectors.
  • Not printing more than I need.  Using the back side of the paper for my graffiti and notes
  • Taking my your own grocery bags to the store .. the less plastic there it is better
  • Planting some plants on my terrace
  • Turning  off the lights .. it is good also for my wallet

There are many more things that one can do.  Just google or BING IT ( ok this is corney)  and you will find a zillion little ways that you too can save the planet.
