I am amused by recent controversy over Congress claiming the legacy of Sardar Patel. Just because Congress ruled central govt did spend similar amount of money promoting ideas of Sardar Patel and Nehru on their Birth and death anniversary does not mean that Patel was a Congress man. Also, just because BJP ruled govt did not spend a penny on Birth and death anniversary of Sardar Patel in 2001 and 2002 does not mean that he was not a member of Bhartiya Janta Party. To be true to the logic, one must remember that BJP was so inspired by “Iron Man” that in the memory of Sardar Patel they created an iron man and spent much more money promoting him then Congress spent promoting all of its past and future leaders together in last 60 years. Also, it can not be ignored that the moment BJP’s iron man started rusting, they went ahead to claim Sardar Patel as their own iron man.Amble proof that BJP can’t live without an iron man and if rumors to be believed, earlier BJP had also approached Robert Downey jr to become BJP’s official iron man,but sadly he refused to pose in Khakhi Chaddi instead of Iron suit. Just because Sardar Patel banned RSS and blamed them for Gandhi-vadh does not mean that Sardar Patel was not a Sangh supporter. I want to go a step further and say that Nehru was even bigger Sangh supporter then Sardar Patel. In fact,I like to believe that Nehru was a Sangh Pracharak in disguise who happened to join a named Indian National Congress. Here is why I think Nehru was a Sangh Pracharak.

1. Indian National Congress only existed till 1969, after Indira was expelled by the party Nehru supporters like Kamraj and Morarji Desai remained in original Congress (o) which later merged in another Nerhu supporter Jaiprakash Narayan’s Janta Party. On the insistence of JP, Jan Sangh members swore at Raj Ghat that they will follow Gandhian ideology and then only JP allowed them entry in Janta Party. Given that all Nehru fans like JP,Morarji Desai and Jan Sangh members became part of Janta Party there is no doubt that had Nehru been alive he would have joined Congress (o) ,later on would become a member of Janta Party and when Gandhian (verified by JP at Raj Ghat) formed BJP ,Nehru would definitely join BJP.

2. SInce Nehru was always a fan of works of Rastriya-Swayangsewak Sangh (RSS) , he was into great pain seeing Sardar Patel accusing RSS of Gandhi-vadh, blaming them to being anti-national etc.Worse happened when Sardar Patel put a ban on RSS,it caused huge rift between Patel and Nehru. It was under Nehru’s pressure that govt finally lifted ban from RSS.

3. Nehru’s love for Sangh became even more evident when he invited Shyama Prasad Mookerjee to join his interim cabinet (SPM later left on the issue of minority welfare. Read : appeasement ) , but Nehru’s love for SPM never faded, he wrote letters to mother of SPM after his demise, made lot of effort to find out exact reason of his beloved SPM’s death. Alas, Nehru couldn’t blame anyone else but weather and chronic diseases. Nehru was hell bent to bring justice to SPM and took the vow to finish TB from India, even till today Govt of India and stars like Rahul Dravid making every effort to finish TB from India and bring justice to SPM.

4. Since by 1948, it was evident to every one that Nehru is a Sangh Pracharak in disguise, it didn’t come to anyone as surprise when Nehru allowed Sangh to participate in Republic day parade of 1963. It was Nehru’s idea to not call Armed forces from border to participate in republic day parade due to war like situation but instead have a civilian event on the occasion keeping RSS in mind. What many people doesn’t know is Nehru secretly asked Sangh to send a request so that he can allow them the honor of leading Republic day parade. But unfortunately along with RSS many other civilian organizations also sent request to participate in the event. Just to avoid controversy Nehru allowed all of them but motive was always to honor RSS. Nehru didn’t succeed but it can not be denied that his Sanghi heart was at right place.

5. Not only Nehru but his descendants also remained firm believers of Sangh ideology. Arun Nehru left Congress (I), to join a Sangh supported govt in 1989. Even before that, carrying forward the legacy of Sangh and Nehru, Menka formed “Rashtriya Sanjay Manch” in 1983. Later on Menka became minister in BJP -led govt at centre. Menka and Arun may not be called descendants of Nehru but no one can deny that privilege to Varun Gandhi. He definitely carries burden of Nehruian Sanghi legacy on his weak shoulders.

Above posted photo and logic makes it evident that Nehru was a born Sanghi. I may doubt Patel’s “Sangh and BJP” love for a moment (only for a moment, never longer) but I have no hesitation in concluding that NEHRU WAS A SANGH PRACHARAK.

(Disclaimer 1: Photo used above gives the impression that Nehru is wearing RSS Khakhi Chaddi but in reality Nehru is wearing uniform of Congress Seva Dal, notice that Chaddi is not Khakhi and very different from RSS uniform.

Disclaimer 2: Most of the facts presented above are indeed correct. So please don’t take final conclusion seriously. Verify the facts and make up your own mind. )
